Die casting process is the process of unifying pressure, speed and time by using three elements: machine, die and alloy. For metal hot working, the existence of pressure is the main feature of die casting process, which is different from other casting methods. It is a process in which molten metal is filled into the mold under high pressure and high speed, and crystallized and solidified under high pressure to form a casting. High pressure and high speed are the main characteristics of die casting. The commonly used pressure is tens of MPA, the filling speed (inner gate speed) is about 16 ~ 80m / s, and the time for liquid metal to fill the mold cavity is very short, about 0.01 ~ 0.2S.

Die casting process is a process of organic combination of die casting machine, die casting die and alloy. The process of filling the cavity with metal during die casting is the process of unifying the process factors such as pressure, speed, temperature and time. For thick-walled castings, on the one hand, the selected inner gate speed is low and the metal solidification time is long, so a smaller filling specific pressure can be used; On the other hand, in order to make the casting have a certain density.

It is also necessary to have sufficient pressurization specific pressure can meet the requirements. For castings with complex shape, the filling specific pressure should be higher. In addition, due consideration should be given to the type of alloy, the size of inner gate speed, the power of die casting machine clamping capacity and the strength of die. The size of filling specific pressure is mainly calculated according to the selected inner gate speed. As for the size of pressurization specific pressure, according to the alloy type, It can be selected by referring to the values in the table below. When the exhaust conditions in the mold cavity are good and the ratio of inner gate thickness to casting wall thickness is appropriate, a low boost specific pressure can be selected. The worse the exhaust conditions are and the smaller the ratio of inner gate thickness to casting wall thickness is, the higher the boost specific pressure should be.
