Answer:2.5 won't fit. 1.75 or 2inch will work. 2 inch depending on leather thickness might be tight. Good carrier, I use mine for 410 shotgun shells.

Answer:Mine measures more like 2 1/4 inch, but might stretch to fit a 2.5 ". depends on how flexible the belt is. Mine is for a 270. not sure if the others are different.
